1. During the past year we Upgraded to the most important PTR-sites for exactly $1000,( under other names ), we were refunded totaly : $667.80 . The loss of $331.20, was the result of the shutting-down of this PTR-sites, not of payout-problems (always suddenly at Payout-time) The list of these Heroes, You can find on our Blacklists ! => we don't find this ridicilous ...

2. The $10 Adminfee-trick is indead not invented by Paul or Penny, but used by a lot of other sites, last year Paul and Penny were ( again at payout-time...) in Africa, so she couldn't payout; the next month Penny had to spend more time with her children, so the payouts would be later ....( I can show You her emails )

2b. This little $10 Admin-trick means : - Free members has lost their gains at once. - a $10-upgraded member, has to invest / RISK $30, for gaining $6.5 , not ? (over a year !) - a $20-upgraded member, has to invest / RISK $40, for gaining $13 , not ? (over a year !) => I don't find this ridicilous ...

3. Paul don't kept his word and lies ( in January 2005, I closed my account on Cashitz.net because I didn't trust Paul anymore ! ) and paid me too less ! So he owes me still money ! Penny owes me over $1200 (until May 2006), not seen a dime yet ! => I don't find this ridicilous ...

When scammers cry SCAM!

The continuing chronicles of the P&P Gang aka Paul and Penny Westhead, the notorious and underhanded owners of http://www.surfwize.com/ and http://www.cashitz.net/, reveal that the two have no shame 'tall when it comes to dealing with other traffic site/paid to surf programs! This from an honest site owner in which Ms Pen has been a member of:

Hello everybody,

This is a sad day as it marks the end of a relationship I had with some people I used to call my friends. Most of you are or have been members of Cashitz and Surfwize, and like me, most of you are still waiting to be paid by both of these sites. Despite the poor treatment I have received from both of these sites over the last 3 months, I have resisted the urge to publicly denigrate either site.

A few of you already know that Paul deleted my account and kept all my earnings because of a comment I made in his forum. Those of you that are aware of this are also aware that I was denied any right of reply, and every further post I put in his forum was deleted. I was prepared to accept this without making the issue too public, as I had made a mistake, and instead of being 3 months overdue for payment it was only 6 weeks. Still not acceptable for a site that promotes itself as having a 100% payout record. I kept a copy of the response he deleted and you can see it at http://autosurfinfo.com/openletter.html

As if that wasn't sad enough I have been waiting since 1st of May for cashout at Surfwize. The last payout I received was during the month of May for April earnings. I am owed for May, June and July, as are most of you.

As you are also aware Penny is a member of dadndaves autosurf. Due to the fact that Paul and Penny were the original hosts of dadndaves autosurf, (that's another story in itself, and you are all aware of the problems I had just after launch) Penny had many hours start on the rest of the field when it came to promoting dadndaves, and as a result won the referral contest for May, which I paid her for. She had no earnings to cashout for May as she had compounded them, but I would have paid her, as I paid everyone else who was due.

She then came 3rd in June, which I asked her to deduct from my June cashout. Of course the June cashout never came. I also paid her on the3rd of July for her June earnings, after she promised me the cashout button at Surfwize would be open on the 7th of July for all members. Almost a month later the cashout button is still not open, the site is down, and she tells me she cannot pay because " I can not get into the control area to pay members out at the moment", but the front page of her site clearly states 'and payouts are continuing whilst we are down'. Which is true??

Obviously, by the number of emails I have been receiving from other disgruntled members the possibility of being paid is becoming less and less by the day. I did not think it was fair on me, or other Surfwize members, to have to wait 3 months to be paid, so I put her dadndaves earnings 'on hold' until I at least got some sort of response from her as to when payouts would begin.

I then received an email from Penny demanding that I pay her what I owe her today. Demanding?? What do you think would happen if you or I demanded to be paid from Cashitz or Surfwize. ** All I asked for was some answers and I got my account deleted, imagine what would have happened if I demanded to be paid. Perhaps those of you who are still waiting should send her an email now and demand to be paid. You'll probably get the same response from her as she got from me, an angry email.

I suggested we delete each others accounts and move on, as despite her problem with arithmetic, the amount she owes me is similar to the amount I owe her. The response I got to that was even stronger than a 'demand'. Threats already!! 'ok, I will treat you as a SCAM, and believe me I can shout.', You have 24 hours to pay me or I will close you down, if you don't think I can watch and learn. and 'Pay me today or face the consequences'

Well I would like to put the record straight. Dadndaves is not a scam, dadndaves pays it's members when payments are due, dadndaves does have a business plan that will guarantee your payouts now and well into the future, unlike some others that stumble along for 12 months, then find out they can't do it properly and have to hire a business consultant.

dadndaves does not, and will not ask it's members to pay a $10 fee in order to keep operating, only to go offline a few days later, dadndaves does not claim to have a 100% payout record, and then renegue on that claim, dadndaves has a 99.9999% payout record, the only person who hasn't been paid is Penny Westhead. For the record I have deleted Penny's account under the terms on my front page which state You won't get your account deleted unless you try to defraud me. Penny has defrauded me and thousands of her members by continually promising payouts which never come, then by charging a $10 fee to be able to make payments, and still not paying.

The One Buck No Bounce Wonder

Soon after we developed THE VALIDATOR, we encountered a BIG problem. People were joining Safe list Submitter very quickly because we had The Validator but they were joining with Free Email accounts like Yahoo, MSN, Zwallet, Gmail and every Free email account you can think of they joined with!

Now here was the problem: Free email accounts like the one’s mentioned do not have POP access so NO validation software could gain access!

So here we provided an auto join submitter to over 1000 safe lists plus THE VALIDATOR to process all the validation links BUT because our members had joined with Free email accounts without POP access - NO validation software could gain access so NO validations were happening! How do you tell your members they have to go out and pay for extortionately priced email accounts, on top of Submitter Membership fees?!

Once again we had to sit down and decide what to do. We knew the big Email companies provided Pop access but their prices, in our opinion were expensive. So we decided to provide our own Email accounts and just4uu.com was born.

It is both POP3 and SMTP based, so the validation and box cleaning software work with it.

The main challenge was how to make it bounce free! Mail servers are notorious for shutting down during heavy usage and this is one of the major causes of what we call bounced email. Email cannot be delivered so it is bounced or returned to the server which sent the email. Sometimes THAT server is down so the email is then bounced back and forth creating all sorts of havoc.

When a mail bounces, the safe list reacts by putting the offending member’s account on vacation-hold to prevent any further email being sent by that member. If mail bounced because the members box was full, that is one thing.

But lots of times it will bounce because the SERVER was full, or overwhelmed or off line for some reason.

So, we came up with a solution: all the incoming mail is actually STORED on our servers until delivered to the boxes. So, unless your box is full (or no longer exists), mail is delivered to you even if the actual box server is down for some reason.

The Validator: A success story

(Publishers Note: Email marketing remains wildly popular. From consumer products to opportunities, marketers use email to advertise their goods and services. While bulk email is often employed, safe lists are probably the venues most used by on line marketers. This ususally means having one or more safe list submitters and then broadcasting to hundreds, sometimes thousands of lists. All those lists must first be validated. This article is from the creator of an extremely useful service called THE VALIDATOR.)

In 1998 I started using Safe lists, just a handful to begin with, logging in daily and sending ads by hand. As you can imagine I did not receive much of a response to my ads! So as we all do, I took the plunge and joined a big safe list submitter, there weren't many of them around at the time and there was no such thing as automated validations!.

Hundreds of validation links came flowing into my email account along with ads from admin owners that validated my account by hand. For 4 days I was getting buried in emails hiding my validation links.

It became that bad in the end I gave up my submitter membership after 5 days, which had just cost me $24.95, swearing never to use a submitter again!

After a couple of days of calming down I started to wonder what could be used to save all the hassles of validating these links and approached a very good friend of mine that was extremely good at writing programs and scripts. He laughed when I told him what I had gone through and looking back so did I.

We sat down and came up with the first The Validator but it had its problems although it downloaded validation links it also downloaded all the other links we receive in emails as well! So my first attempt brought in 22,000 links the program dutifully clicked through them all but took 38 hours and 20 minutes precisely! The other problem we had was it also downloaded virus links, so you can imagine the chaos that caused!

Finally The Validator was created. It has been improved a lot since then, generally our time for processing validations is around about 2 hours. It searches out any virus' found in emails and will NOT download them, this email is then deleted from the web server and validations carry on.

A lot of people have asked "why should I use The Validator when my submitter has an onboard validation service".

My answer to them is simple ask your submitter admin if they also process validations for contact email addresses, most safelist hosts now require this, their answer will be NO. The onboard validation script can only validate one email account per set of safe lists. You can read more about this on our site Impressions-hosting.com

Whilst The Validator is processing your validation links we watch over everyone of them so if there was a large number of safe lists that were down on their servers we can inform you of this and re-send The Validator at another time, something else that an onboard validation script cannot do!

Although The Validator is an industrial strength program it is operated by human beings that you can talk to if needs be.

Fastads and Postads were the first submitters to start offering THE VALIDATOR (independent from the on board validator). Since then, many other submitters now use the service including XtreamNet Marketing Center.

2Daily crashes and burns

2Daily has stopped paying members, stopped answering emails and has closed its doors permanently, and in otherwise short order left the buiding after only a brief (like couple months?) sojourn on the Net, possibly breaking an all time record in the flash, splash, crash and burn on-line business model, and, no doubt taking those who did actually invest money with them (in high hopes of the promised high returns) firmly to the cleaners

When it first appeared, many were excited and an equally number puzzled. The burning question was how could it possibly support the claims of large payouts for miniscule amount of surfing? How? A traffic exchanges' life blood is in the surf. That is what makes it all WORK. You simply cannot attract advertisers without active member surf stats. Plus, you simply cannot just give money away along with free memberships combined with small payout levels. All that eventually comes back to haunt you. Quickly in 2Daily's case.

Of course, 2Daily was on the fast-track to burn out from the onset: promising a. free money b. free memberships c. low (like non-existent surf requirements) and (most fatal of all) d. quick payouts within the first 30-days for all members - including free. They apparently had not noticed that "free" members means no one spends money. If you pay free members to surf every month, they tend to stay that way. Plus, if you set the surf standards too low, you basically have a whole lot of people doing - nothing. And nothing does not pay the bills, does not attract advertisers, does not encourage members to upgrade.

Nothing then means you have no money to pay the members. Unless you have really deep pockets and another agenda for starting the whole affair to begin with, of course you are doomed. Of course you cannot pay. Of course you have no substantial or loyal or (God forbid) WORKING membership. Everyone along for the gravy train and the free ride and no one noticing the rather ill concealed lumps or the sink holes in the road. For those lured by promises of EVEN BIGGER PAYOFFS by investing their money in the ill-fated enterprise...

So, what does that say about the paid-to-surf industry? Is it a sham, scam, and a rip-off? In my opinion, absolutely NOT.

There are scammers and mis-guided and/or unscrupulous owners for sure. There are the sharks absolutely. There are those who have no clue - as in all sense and sensibility has left the building. Does this cast a shadow on the paid-to industry as a whole. Yes. But shadows are meant to be stepped out of.

There is a number of very successful and ethically run paid-to-surf programs on the Net. Some are very well established, some are new. Some have successfully employed the concept of free accounts and free money. Studio Traffic is the most notable (and probably the most emulated).

However, for every Studio Traffic there are THOUSANDS (or more) which fail. The primary reason for failure is that free money and free membership combined with LOW PAYOUT time frames and membership levels is inherently unstable. As a veteran of many paid-to sites, I know for a fact that the majority of them have very high payout levels for free members and there is a sound business reason behind this. By the time a free member finally reaches payout, the site has garnered a. many paying members b. many paying advertisers. These are the entities which actually pay a. hosting bills and b. the free members.

I belonged at one time to a number of paid-to sites where the payout was set at well over $150.00 for the free members. At .002 per click, well let's say it was a whole lot of reading required to make payout level. And then of course I didn't make $150.00. Nope. That was the LEVEL I had to accumulate. Sigh. I got paid anything over that. I never did reach payout. Kinda the whole point in the industry somewhat. That was 2003 - 2004.

Then, we started to see the backlash to all this. First there was all those programs which claimed to pay you $5, then $10 then $50 and THEN $150 per email. Yikes! One of them was supposedly paying out at $15,000. Like HOW?? (My all time favorite was the site that supposedly taught you how to earn $1 million reading emails. Right. My question was WHO WAS PAYING THAT? That what I wanted to find out because THAT was the business I wanted. Lol. I wanted to be the admin who PAID out that mil to members - plural.)

Point is: paid-to anything is a business. It must follow good, sound business practices and laws. Anyone can PROMISE anything. A promise is no good unless fulfilled. Ethical business owners know and appreciate this fact. They follow solid business models which guarantee success for the customers/members first. This guarantees them success. When looking for a good paid-to program to invest in ASK QUESTIONS! Analyze the situation. Does it MAKE SENSE? Then, proceed with caution always.
