Long before I started working online, I worked for years setting up new venues, businesses, offices and then some on construction sites involved in contract management. While very rewarding work, new things are STRESSFUL as they are new, have bugs, issues and things which must be worked out. Nothing ever goes up or works accourding to the specs, blueprints, designs and etc. Things always change during and after installation. Always. Bringing something new and innovative online is fun, exciting and exhillarating. Then, you need to fix the problems and work out the bugs.

These always take time as you are dealing with people - people who work at their own pace. Sometimes fixes don't fix the problem because you discover something else was the root cause of the problem. You don't know until the problem arises and then you try to fix it.

Once upon a time in a Galaxy far away…

Before my current incantation online, I worked in the real world. One of my jobs entailed working for a conveyor company who was installing systems in a brand new auto manufacturer called Saturn in a remote little place called Springhill, TN, USA. It was fun, innovative, different and very hectic. We were building something NEW and lots of designs and equipment and concepts were unique. It was exciting all the way around.

One day our installation manager, coordinator, a main contract supervisor for Saturn and myself went into one of the buildings under construction to take care of some floor/concrete issues. Floor was not level enough for the installation of the conveyor frame. This was a HUGE facility…miles in fact. All bare floor and walls. Except….

We looked up and there was all this fencing hanging all over the ceiling! Literally miles of it, convoluting, and squaring, and running and then diverting in all sorts of interesting patterns. It fenced nothing in. There was nothing below it. Just endless tracks of wire metal fence. We were like - WHAT IS THAT all about??

If you have ever been in an assembly plant or a line you know safety is a major issue. All conveyors and lines must have fencing and guards and so on to protect workers. Saturn, had contracted a company to come in and place safety fencing around all the assembly lines to ensure they could pass every Osha and other Safety requirement possible. Awesome. Only thing, they company they contracted got greedy and impatient.

You see, their general contractor paid the contracts by performance. So, the safety equipment company, not wanting to wait on the actual EQUIPMENT and wanting their money asap, went in and installed the fencing BEFORE the actual equipment was up, hung, installed and etc according to the original contract specs. (No matter there was no ACTUAL EQUIPMENT to fence in.) Then they billed the general contractor for their work.

Words were exchanged. Documents were traded. Lots of legal haggling ensured. The fencing issue was a major headache for all the equipment Companies as it was in their WAY as they tried to install the overhead conveyors! It was a silly mess. In the end all was resolved. The fencing was removed. Overhead conveyors were installed. Fencing was then installed (by another company), Osha was satisfied, facility passed inspection, cars were and still are being built and rolling off the assembly line into dealerships and buyers driveways.

Point is….stuff happens. Annoying stuff happens no one intended or planned for or wanted or expected, especially when building something new and innovative. Then we deal with it. We deal with it, do what is needful, look back and laugh. When dealing with the new, the being built, the innovative we deal with what comes along. We continue to build that assembly facility, whatever roll we play in it, deal with the inconvenient and even wrong and move on. Hopefully we learn something in the process and grow.

I have taken the lessons learned at my experiences with Saturn and other jobs very much to heart and brought them online within my own venues. Stuff happens all the time. You deal with it, learn, grow, move on. In the process you improve! You are able to offer better sites and venues because of what went on before. You take the long perspective to survive and prosper.

We are building something new and innovative and stuff is going to happen. We can throw our hands up and quit, or we can take the long view. We can deal with it, learn, grow, move on. Post Ads: Here members can post ads, upon posting some specified points (set by admin) will be automatically deducted from user's account.

Logout: To Exit from the member's area.

2) My Ads: This has the list of Ads posted by the current user, with options to Re-List and Delete. When you press Re-List then user is forced to view some ads prior posting. After viewing these it shows window where users can Re-list Ad.

And above these there is a Post Ad Button if (disabled) means you can't ad now, if (enabled) means you can post ad now.

3) My Banners: It contains the list of banners purchased by the user, and these banners will show on the current website.

Viewed By: (it shows the banner already viewed this much users)

Status:
(Approval means banner needs to be approved by admin)
(Active means banner is in queue to shown to users)

5) Paid Surfing: It's the section where users can really earn cash for surfing website, Timer on the top implies for how much time you need view the site to earn cash in (USD). When the timer expires "Collect Your Cash some $" button automatically enabled. On pressing this button cash is added to user account, and next website opens automatically in next window. If you exit from it by pressing "Done" it moves you to My Account which shows user account information and total cash in his account.

6) Solo Ads: (These are the ads which are sent to contact email ID's of users). This page has the list of previously sent solo ads with statistics of them. User can delete any as wished. At the bottom of page user has the option to "Post Solo Ad", it moves you to page where you can Compose Solo Ad Subject: (It's the subject of email).

Message: (It's the body of the ad which is sent with solo ad).

Promotional Link: (It's the link which users need to browse for earning points of solo ad)When you subject the compose page you shown preview window where you need to confirm it's submission

"Edit More" to modify the solo ad and "Submit Now" means user confirmed the submission of Solo Ad. After solo ads submission user needs to pay said amount via (Strompay or Paypal) to finish the Solo ads submission. If he successfully make to payment to website owner then the solo ad is added to user account with approval status. This needs to be approved by admin. If the payment not completed then the submission will be discarded.

7) Vacation: During vacation period user will not loose points for not logging into website and he also not receive solo ads from other members. Members who fail to register for vacation will be treated as active members, and will be penalised for not being active member and could lose points, and in some instances their membership.

About Page Manager: This page is for managing About Us page here admin can put new components and edit existing components. This module is similar to that of news modules.

Contact Us Page: Here admin can put corporate contact information like email ID's phone etc this area is also editable by admin.

FAQ Manager: Here admin can add question and answers which are very common. And he can also answer user queries which are posted by users. Here admin can add new FAQ Categories and FAQ's to make FAQ more easily understandable. Other basic options (Edit-Delete-Activate/Deactivate) are the same.

User Manager: This is the main area where admin can retrieve and edit all information of the user (except password) other basic options (Edit-Delete-Activate/Deactivate) are the same.

Affiliate Banners: This page has the list of all affiliate banners which are in database and admin can edit any. At top of page there's option (Add New Banner). Here new banner can be inserted but Mail Ads logo always there in left top corner.

Affiliates Transactions: This page has the list of payment requests sent by affiliate's users, with name and username of requesting affiliate with description showing that for which members the affiliate is claiming commission and affiliate's payment Id (Paypal ID).

After paying or without paying admin can change the status of the transactions through Edit Status option. At the bottom of each transaction current status is shown and time when request is placed.

Weblinks Page Manager: Here you can add or manage other website link from your site. Admin can add new weblink or new weblink's category. One weblinks category may have any number of weblinks.

Page Views Manager: It has the list of the recently posted page views. Admin has given the information about link page link and owner who submitted that link. He also has the option to (Edit-Approve-Reject-Delete) the page views when admin approve the page view than the status of that page becomes active and after that page is become visible to all users.

If admin rejects the page view then the page not visible to any user. Admin can edit the page view links, page impressions etc with edit option. Admin can also add new page view with "Add Page View" option on the top.

Tracking: This is for checking the site traffic, admin can see from which IP, which user visited which page on what date and time.

Website Settings: This is for setting up the website variables like payment ID's, Timer Settings, Points Settings etc. admin can change it whenever required.

Block Manger: This is the runtime module generator; here admin can create blocks and pages within these blocks. TOS is no excuse for stealing:

Jim Hunt aka Kevin Hewitt has stated in his members’ area that his recent readjustments of accounts must be accepted as it was listed in his Terms of Service (tos).

A typical ploy your average scammer will use is telling the members that they (the scammer) can steal your money by making so called readjustments to earnings and investments because they have buried that provision in the terms of service somewhere. They will then link that to acceptable loss.

First of all, anything listed in a terms of service must be legal. It is not legal to steal. Readjustments and wiping out investments paid or earned is stealing. It is theft. Illegal activities are still illegal and not to be honored by any Court of Law.

Second of all, every judge will weigh what is publicly stated and implied on your FRONT page and what is used in advertising and promotions. Those are totally unsubstantiated claims designed to lure people to his site where he then steals from them.

4Daily scam: sometimes you just have to laugh

There are just some people who simply BEG to be ridiculed and, I am sorry - made fun of. Take Jim Hunt aka Kevin Hewitt of one of the biggest scams to hit the paid to surf industry in 2005 http://4daily.com/. (Please - someone take him to jail for instance…lol)

First he grovels and pleads and begs to his membership to upgrade, compound and otherwise purchase surf levels to keep his business afloat. THEN, after he figured he had gotten all the suckers to buy, he pulls the plug, takes the site down, wipes out all those purchases and membership levels and re-launches 4D as a revitalized site. He calls it a readjustment... a reduction of earnings. Ok - he STOLE from those members.

Naturally, members were not pleased.

They complained. Loudly and on many venues established for people to report complaints and abuse. Some are pursuing the matter on other venues and reporting him to government agencies and law enforcement offices.

Jim/Kevin baby is not pleased. Having raped the members he is now incensed that they dare complain saying it is in the terms of service that they cannot. Rigggggttttt. Like any Judge on the face of the planet is going to honor THAT! Tos is important: establishes the playing field and the rules which everyone abides by. But, really important here: they (the tos statements and what you agree to) must be LEGAL.

So, Jim/Kevin put things in his tos that are not legal in most countries and in most civilized lands. He then steals from his members and now he is upset because they complain. Most people DO object to being raped. To them tell them that it was in the tos that he could do so - well, just plain ludicrous.

Now he is huffing and puffing and threatening to sue everyone and you just have to laugh. Not that what he did was funny. How he is acting is. And very, very sad. But, as no one has control over how Jim Hunt behaves or manages 4Daily, everyone has the right to pursue their own course of redress.

Check the payment processors BEFORE you invest:

Ever wonder why some sites - especially so-called opportunity or investment or paid to sites only offer Egold? Some of them are bold enough to say they don‘t offer Paypal or StormPay because of the ‘high fees.‘ Riiiggght. Like, here you are opening your hot new store just in time for the holiday season and you don’t offer Visa or MasterCard. You offer American Express maybe or Diners Club or Bank of Lithuania (opps, I don’t think Lithuania exists anymore.) But no big V or MC. And you sure don’t accept checks!

Lol. So what is up with that scenerio anyway? The two biggest and most well known payment processors on the Net are PayPal and StormPay. Why would anyone in their right minds (ok, or left. Ok, just in their minds) NOT want to have these two processor options? The fees? Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Well, one of the reasons is because PayPal and StormPay have aggressive scam reviews and mechanisms in place. Not to say a very honest and legitimate site has NEVER come under scrutiny. There are those who file false allegations against sites. (Kinda like those who file false spam reports. It DOES happen.) Paid to sites are especially subject to review, especially in light of the rampant abuse in these venues.

Don't take me wrong here either. This is no slur on Egold or IntGold or Moneybookers and etc. Is is a simple fact that neither of these payment processors have the reach or acceptance, especially in the U.S., as PayPal or Stormpay. So why LIMIT yourself and your site's reach?

Usually, when a site does NOT offer either PP or SP, there is a really good reason. And that reason usually has to do with abuse reports against THAT specific site or (and really key on new venues) that the owner or owners have had substantiated reports of abuse on OTHER sites they have operated. This stuff follows you around. Once you establish a track record, for better or worse, that record follows you around practically forever.

It could also mean the owner/operators are under age. I am all for the entrepreneur experience and energy for any and all ages, but when it comes to investing my money in a site - wanting a responsible adult supervising somewhere on this one. (Ok, some adults need supervising as well.)

Yeah. So, buyer beware on new sites wanting YOUR money and very limited payment processor options.

Invest with Paid to Surf cautiously:

Like anything else, paid to surf is a business and must be run by people as a business and with ethics. so, pick and choose and RESEARCH before and during your experience.

My partner learned the hard way this year that past performance is NO indication on present or future. You have to constantly check the boards, do a search engine search and etc - even on good performers. The site that paid you on time last month...may not the next.

I recommend cautious investing with any paid to surf venue. Invest once, take the payout. This is a check and balance - you check to see if they pay on time. Invest again. if it looks good, compound. then, next time take out the payment instead of doing another compound. next time, do the research. If it looks good still - compound. then repeat until you reach a level you are comfortable with. My strategy is to have taken matching payouts to compound level - this way you a. make a little while compound to make a little more in the future. Then, if the site goes belly up, you have not LOST.

I do not advise you ever investing and then compounding everything, never taking a payout. This is how you end up losing big time. For example, if you have invested and compounded at 12DailyPro to $200 level, when it comes time for payout or compound - leave what ever is necessary to maintain your $200 level and cash out the rest. Do this until you have cashed out $200. Then, after you have cashed out at least $200, research. If it looks good - compound again. If it looks so-so, leave what ever is necessary in to keep your level and just cash out. continue this until the site looks healthy enough to consider a compound again or until it goes bust.

In this manner you achieve the best of both worlds - profit balanced by cautious investment. having compounded to the $5000 level without ever taking a payout does you no good if the site fails to pay you! lol.

Of course, many unscrupulous owners (like the scam http://www.4daily.com ) counted on members compoundsin ng rather than taking the payout. This is where everyone can get into trouble.

Never simply take the word, published or not, of the program owner. Test what the owner and site is saying about itself by browsing the search engines and the forums. One simple thing I do is type in the name of the program, like 12daily, and then see what comes up in the search engines. Another thing I do is check a number of forums to see what members are saying (if anything) about a site.

Especially check on sites which offer guarantees. Guarantees are usually a good sign, but there have been abuses in the industry in this regard so, again, research is always advised. PowerPaySurf is a site that offers a guarantee on payout. To date it has made payments to members on time.

4daily runs with the money

The recent debacle at http://www.4daily.com/ raises some serious questions regarding the venture that go way beyond simple mismanagement of the program and members funds by it’s owner Jim Hunt aka Kevin Hewitt. That it was discovered Jim Hunt may be an alias for Kevin Hewitt is, in itself, disturbing and gives one pause to consider the integrity of the program.

From the beginning, the venue seemed to be on the fast track. The owner claims on the site and in advertising to have over 200,000 members and to have paid out over $4,000,000 since opening the program October 2004. Those are the CLAIMS made by a person who appears to be a liar and a thief. As Kevin Hewitt, Jim Hunt operated a classic scam program called http://www.cashits.com (not to be confused with yet another scam http://cashitz.com/). He ran the program IN EXACTLY the same manner he is now running http://www.4daily.com/ - the same operating issues, same purported hackers, same money issues, same everything.

Given that the man is probably an established scam artist, every aspect of this venue deserves close scrutiny and testing. In reviewing forums, posts, and articles (real articles not advertisements) and then holding those findings up to what I have learned as a traffic site owner myself, I am wondering if the whole 4d thing was not just one huge crock from day one.

1. 200,000 members. Did you know that there is software on the market that sends robots out to auto join programs for you? Paul at PT-Scripts, the genius who developed the traffic exchange script Xtream uses, has spent countless hours putting in ways to PREVENT robots from auto joining our sites. However, it is possible, and in the case of 4d highly probable, that Jim Hunt and company used robots to create thousands - possibly over 200,000 or more ARTIFICIAL members. Using this technique, he was able to drive up membership to the levels it is shown and in which he advertises the program with.

2. All those members surfing and sites shown:There are also ROBOTS who surf. Again, Paul spent more hours (and still does) creating ways to stop and defeat the robots. But on sites with unscrupulous owners you can take all those artificial members you created, put robots onto those accounts, and then surf the program away thus creating what appears to be tons of hits and traffic to the sites listed in the exchange.

3. $4 million paid to members:Here is where it really gets interesting (and scammy.) All those artificial accounts you created? Well, you can artificially put ‘money’ on those accounts. It is all cybercash at this point - no actual hard currency or real money involved. You have now ARTIFICIALLY added value to the program which you can now use in statistics to lure members to your site and then to entice them to upgrade.

You can even CLAIM to payout those people! Once you add cash, whether through an actual transaction (ie someone paid you) or through merely putting that money on an account, you can then tell the script to ‘pay’ a member or members. This takes the figures you placed on an account or accounts and moves them into your ‘paid’ database. In this way you cook the books so to speak and create the illusion of having a. lots of money and b. having paid out lots of money.

Note, you have only told the script to pay the members, no actual money has been paid to anyone and no actual payment transaction has really taken place. You do that separately through your payment processor. No one is tracking that one.

So, the reality of this scenario is that you have a site in which you merely fabricated memberships, surfing, cash on accounts and then the pay outs to create the illusion of a wildly successful enterprise. It is my belief that this is what happened and is happening at 4d.

Of course, not all those members are artificial nor was/is their money smoke and mirrors! Many real members joined and surfed and upgraded and spent money with this failing program. In return, they get nothing. Which is exactly what the members of 4daily.com are getting back from Jim Hunt.

Jim Hunt has run with the money…the actual members’ money. Was there ever the amount of money involved Jim claims in his current and ongoing advertising campaign or states on his site? Doubtful. Did Jim ever payout millions of real dollars to thousands of members? Highly unlikely.

However, he HAS wiped out EVERY single member’s accounts, their earnings and their compounds - even the REAL members who paid (and surfed and earned and compounded) and in effect STOLEN from every single real live member at his site. He continues to refuse to pay ANY of the real, live members, including those who requested payment from him as far back as June 2005. He also continues to ADVERTIZE the contrary - that he pays 100% of the members 100% of the time on a site that is most likely one built entirely on smoke and mirrors.
